About Eremos
Our Vision
At Eremos, we believe everyone deserves access to shalom—a life of peace, harmony, and wholeness. Rooted in an ancient Hebrew concept, shalom encompasses mental, emotional, spiritual, and relational well-being.
But experiencing this fullness requires deep connections with God, ourselves, and others—connections that often feel out of reach because of fear and vulnerability.
That’s where we come in.
Through guidance and a supportive community, Eremos helps break down barriers, fostering self-awareness and God-awareness so you can step into the transformative power of shalom.
Our Mission
Eremos (Eh-RAY-moes) is inspired by the Greek word found in the New Testament, meaning a solitary place, the wilderness, or the lonely place. It’s in the solitude of the eremos that individuals like Moses, Elijah, and Jesus discovered profound connection with God and themselves.
At Eremos, we believe that true communion begins in solitude. As Parker Palmer says, “Solitude does not necessarily mean living apart from others; rather, it means never living apart from one’s self.”
Solitude is not isolation but the starting point for a life-giving rhythm: going inward to encounter God and then outward to share life in community.
Our mission is to help others embrace this rhythm of solitude and community.
Eremos was born out of countless conversations between co-founders Zachary Bryant and Brian Nicklaus—conversations filled with curiosity, longing, and a shared desire to see lives transformed.
Zach and Brian first crossed paths in the summer of 2019 while working for a faith-based inpatient recovery program. During coffee breaks and lunches, they quickly connected over shared interests in life, pop culture, theology, recovery, mental health, and contemplative spirituality. Their conversations often reflected a mutual experience: growing up in church traditions that prioritized intellect and moral codes over a deep, personal friendship with Jesus. While they valued the biblical knowledge they had gained, they both sensed it wasn’t enough to bring about the fully transformed life they longed for.
Their growing friendship became a space for exploring what was missing—a deeper experience of God and a desire to help others discover it too. Over time, the dream to share what they were learning and experiencing took shape. After years of reflection, prayer, and preparation, the next step became clear. In the fall of 2022, Zach and Brian felt God calling them to channel their ideas and experiences into something new: Eremos.
Today, Eremos is the realization of that dream, offering a space for spiritual seekers, skeptics, and believers to grow in self-awareness, God-awareness, and wholeness.

Our Statement of Faith
Eremos is deeply connected to the Christian tradition, affirming the faith passed down by the earliest disciples of Jesus, as expressed in the Apostles’ Creed and Nicene Creed. We embrace an ecumenical spirit, striving to foster understanding and cooperation among all Christian denominations. As the timeless principle teaches: “In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, love.”
While our convictions are deeply informed by the Christian tradition, we also believe that God is actively at work in all humankind. At Eremos, we create safe and welcoming spaces for dialogue, reflection, and growth, where individuals from all religious backgrounds and perspectives can feel valued and respected.
These beliefs shape how we cultivate opportunities for spiritual growth, self-awareness, and God-awareness. Through meaningful conversations and shared experiences, we strive to foster a deeper connection with God and each other in a way that leads to greater peace, harmony, and wholeness.
